Excellent Model Core Queens Blade P-9 Menas PVC Figure

MegaHouse has created this Excellent Model Core Queens Blade P-9 Menas PVC figure (エクセレントモデルCORE クイーンズブレイドP-9 古代の王女 メナス) that is bound to please fans of the anime series immensely, not least because of the immense oppai they have decided to hook onto the character (otherwise known as Menace or Menasu). Obviously designed to get hold of hardcore fans of the Queen’s Blade anime, this Excellent Model Core Queens Blade P-9 Menas PVC figure is actually quite a good addition to the family of other Menace figures that have been made previously.

Probably due to the nature of Queen’s Blade fans (or seriously, the nature of Queen’s Blade itself), the Queen’s Blade P-9 Menace PVC figure has the requisite cast-off parts, which are quite well detailed themselves. Check out Menas’ Egyptian clothing that allows her to maintain her modesty just a little bit.

And what lurks underneath and beneath looks strangely alluring and not much that Menas can actually do to cover up.

Well, if you did not manage to pre-order your own Excellent Model Core Queens Blade P-9 Menas PVC figure, thankfully they are still available, although in limited quantities and not that widely available. Hobby Search has Menace at 5,700 yen which is the best price I could find before factoring shipping costs. Amazon Japan has it at a much higher price of 6,165 yen although the free shipping option really helps. They also have some new ones at a lower price of 5,700 yen which are sold by the Amazon Marketplace sellers.

Queen’s Blade Steel Princess Yumil PVC Figure

The Queen’s Blade Steel Princess Yumil PVC figure (クイーンズブレイド 鋼鉄姫 ユーミル) is one of the first of the new figure range that promises to flood the market since the Queen’s Blade anime debuted a few weeks ago. While the anime has focused more on stylish oppai displays than a concrete plot or story, this Queen’s Blade Steel Princess Yumil PVC figure has lots of style without fear of a lack of oppai.

Made by Griffon Enterprises, this figure will be 1/7 scale and looks quite well made – the details are quite intricate and the colors are very appealing to the eyes, although this is naturally helped by Yumil’s original design. Compared to earlier models of the same character by Mega House (which were awful in my opinion but still did well), this one would definitely not look out of place in a tasteful collection display.

The only downside of this as with many of the better anime figures released nowadays is that the Queen’s Blade Steel Princess Yumil PVC figure is by no means easy on the wallet. It retails at 7,600 yen but since we online figure collectors are so blessed, there are discounts available everywhere. However, the cheapest price I could find was at Amazon Japan at 6,623 yen with free shipping. Those who do not live in Japan can still get it from Amazon Japan at this price, and send it to Tenso.com to forward ship to your own address. You still pay a little for commission and international shipping from Tenso to you, but the addition will still leave you paying less for getting it at other retailers, which is how I get most of my new figures at cheaper prices. However, for those who wish to get it without the hassle, Hobby Search have it at 7,220 yen. Play-Asia are also stocking it and the pre-order price is US$79.90.

Aisha Kanu PVC Figure FREEing Version

This Aisha Kanu PVC figure (かんう あいしゃ) from FREEing is one of the better bases to come with a figure since Black Rock Shooter so far and coupled with the slightly aggressive pose, the whole effect gives it quite a bit of life. I have not played the game “Koihime Musou” from which this Aisha Kanu PVC figure is derived from, but there is no need for that in order to appreciate a fine work of art.

Starting with the base, it’s probably the first portion of the Aisha Kanu PVC figure to attract my eye. I love it when the figurine designer or maker decides to be a little more imaginative than usual, as bases can give a figure that much more life and vitality. The flames look like they’re dancing in the wind so that’s brilliant.

Aisha Kanu’s pose looks like she’s coming for ya, but again, it’s that base of flames that’s doing the trick in my opinion. Her costume details are quite exquisite and I kind of like the paintwork looks well done in great shades and hues. Aisha’s hair has a nice graceful flow to it and her weapon Seiryuu Engetsudou (a lance or a spear?) is pretty cool in her hands. Will have to wait for the figure to arrive in order to examine how detailed the weapon is.

FREEing has the Aisha Kanu PVC figure at a retail price of 10,800 yen, quite pricey but with a base like this, you kind of expected it. It’s quite big as well at 270mm or 1/6 scale, so expect shipping rates to be higher. As usual, Hobby Search is early and has it at pre-order of 9,771 yen. Amazon Japan’s pre-order price for Aisha Kanu is 8,640 yen though and that’s with free domestic shipping. For comparison, I’ll provide prices from other stores once they’ve updated their inventories.
