April 7th, 2009 — Anime Figures, Nendoroid Figures, PVC Figures
I don’t play the Idolmaster game but after seeing these Nendoroid Petit The Idolmaster Stage 01 PVC figures from Good Smile Company, it was hard to resist them. Needless to say I made my order for them and these ultra-cute Nendoroid Petit The Idolmaster Stage 01 PVC figures should be arriving on my doorstep anytime soon. Just looking at some of these preview pictures should have persuaded fans of either the game or nendoroids to snap them up quick, especially since the former has a reaaallly huge following both within Japan and overseas. Nendoroids themselves are already adorable, but the poses that these nendoroid petits have are eye-catching as well.
If you haven’t picked up these Idolmaster Stage 01 Nendoroid Petit PVC figures, better make a move fast. Good Smile Company have already announced the release of Stage 02 figures for July 2009 but personally I much prefer the Stage 01 series and collection. Their costumes look much better as well as their poses. However, I must say the pink for Stage 02 is quite appealing too. Together with the upcoming World Is Mine Hatsune Miku PVC figure, this set is one of those that I don’t think twice about adding to my collection. For comparison below, these are the Stage 02 Nendoroid Petit The Idolmaster PVC figures:

For those who have yet to grab their Stage 01 sets, better make a move now. Hobby Search had them at 5,700 yen but are now sold out. Amazon Japan has one more set when I last checked but it is a ‘used’ set (which means it’s new but someone is reselling it) at a whopping 8,000 yen. HobbyLinkJapan still has some in stock at 5,712 yen which is the cheapest I can find right now next to Hobby Search. So better get them while they still have ‘em.
If you very much prefer the Nendoroid Petit The Idolmaster Stage 02 PVC figures, then the cheapest price you can get them at would be at Amazon Japan at 4,740 yen with free shipping. For those living outside Japan, you can still buy from Amazon Japan, just make use of the forwarding service from Tenso.com. Tenso charges some handling commission and you need to pay for the shipping from Tenso to your home. Despite this, personally I’ve managed to save quite a bit doing this for figures on Amazon Japan that have a much larger discount compared to those given at Hobby Search or HobbyLinkJapan. Just do your maths and there’ll be quite a number worth the effort. Hobby Search has the Stage 02 figures at 5,429 yen while HLJ priced them at 5,426 yen. They are all at pre-order for now (and usually cheapest time to buy).

Most would take one look at this Fate-T-Harlaown True Sonic Form PVC figure from Alter and think it is a clear winner. Not much disagreement either from me but after looking at it for awhile, it will not necessarily be a must-buy for me. The details of the hair on the Fate-T-Harlaown True Sonic Form PVC figure are fantastic, especially with the flailing in the wind effect, but it is also an effect one too many for me. The design and pose are both graceful and stylish at the same time, and might still leave me to regret my decision not to pick the figure up, but there is just something about the overall space it takes up that is putting me off.

Without a proper stand, the figure might also bend in the future but since this Fate-T-Harlaown True Sonic Form PVC figure is from the trusted makers of Alter, one expects little chance of that happening. I’m also a sucker for really decorative bases that add to the overall effect of a figure’s pose or design, regardless of the extra costs that might bring. This figure fails to live up to my own expectations in that department.

That said, the Fate-T-Harlaown True Sonic Form PVC figure does look really stylish from certain angles. At a retail of 12,800 yen, quite pricey but fans will no doubt lap it up despite that. Those in the Asia region can get it slightly cheaper at Hobby Search or HobbyLink Japan for 12,160 yen as it is now available for pre-order, to be released in August 2009. Amazon Japan does not appear to have it in stock just yet but if they do, I expect it to be much cheaper. I do not see myself buying this though, and very much prefer to spend my money on the Black Rock Shooter PVC figure instead.

If you have not seen pictures of the World Is Mine Hatsune Miku figure yet, this is another one that is a must-have for most fans. Looks absolutely stunning from the single picture that has been released, sexy charm and seductive allure all rolled into one with this World Is Mine Hatsune Miku figure available here on Amazon Japan. Not much information or details released just yet as they tease us with a photo and a fleeting appearance in a brief CM of it and the Black Rock Shooter PVC figure.
The CM will debut on 5th April.
Will share more details about the World Is Mine Hatsune Miku figure when available.
Update: Via Mikatan’s blog, the World Is Mine Hatsune Miku PVC figure will be ready for pre-order from tomorrow, 28th April. It will be released in September this year, around the same time as the Black Rock Shooter figure. I’ll provide the best prices available for pre-order from the various sites as soon as they are available tomorrow so be sure to check back. Meanwhile, check out the latest preview photos from Mikatan. There will be an elaborate display case together with the World Is Mine Hatsune Miku pvc figure and it looks absolutely gorgeous! Fabulous! Is all I can say.
So the figure is now known as supercell featuring Miku Hatsune: World Is Mine PVC figure and there are actually going to be two versions – one with a Brown Frame and one with a Natural Frame. Supposedly you can also hang them on the wall but I’d prefer to place them on display horizontally since I won’t need to run the risk of the figures falling off. The pre-order prices are out for both and here’re the best prices for comparison. I’ll be getting mine from Amazon Japan since again their discounts are the largest for preorder figures plus they have free shipping, and will more than compensate the shipping costs when using Tenso.com to ship the figures to me, making them cheaper than anywhere else.
